Baby Mini Album!

Good Morning,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Today I want to share with you a project I'd been working on for the past tow weeks. I finally finished the project and shipped it to a very happy client. I had a request to create a guest book/mini album for a baby shower in NY. They wanted something similar to my pink & brown guest book in a previous post. This book has so many different layers it has a crib I created using my DS and a mini accordian fold album which served as the front cover. There is also lots of tags and I finally got to cut something with my gypsy. The book looks nothing like the one in my previous post but my client was happy. In the end I loved the way the book turned out the color combination the papers and all the layers made it awesome.... I have an etsy store I have yet to really put anything in the store but since this a new year I am going to start listing some stuff.  And this book will def be at the store.

Good Morning,

There are also some changes coming up I will keep you guys updated on my progress I might even need some advice from my friends.

Anyways I know its late but I am totally backed up on project posting. I decided to post this project today because I am think I will be using this same concept for the upcoming holidays. I had a sneak peek of this project on an older post. This holiday season I got really sick and while home from work I started to look around for x-mas ideas. A few ideas came up but this one became a hit. I posted the information of the source of this box in my previous post. I did these boxes for the boys teacher and they loved them. these boxes are good to make and use for any occasion and can be used as a gift or treat box. I am currenty working on a few of these boxes for V-day so stay tuned....

Enjoy!!!!

Hollywood Birthday Bash

Hello,

Today I wanted to share with you this Hollywood Birthday I did for my cousins daugthers 10th birthday. The pictures didn't come out as great. We created an L shaped dessert/candy table. We had cotton candy in champagne glasses to give it a more diva feel. The cake and cupcakes where done using movie elements. We made the food labels like movie reels and the table centerpieces where edible with fresh popcorn and candy.

Backyardigan Birthday Party

Hello Friends,

As promised I am getting around to posting my projects and parties from last year. I am so late with posting but life and work have gotten in the way. Its been so hard to keep up with my demands at work, my home life and my part time buisness which on most weeks seems like a full time buisness. One goal for this year is to post all my projects in a timely manner and keep you updated. Without futher ado here is a party I did for my co-workers adorable 3 year old. The theme was Backyardigans and it was at a park, the wind was not on my side that day but in the end it turned out amazing.

Goals for 2011

Hello Friends,

Happy New Year!!! I know its a little late... I hope you all had a great New Year.
Well I must tell you that my New Years didn't start quite how I expected. I sprained my wrist last Wednesday at work I didn't get to the doctor till Saturday. The doctor informed me that I would hav to wear a splint and sling for the next 2 weeks. Therefore I am not allowed to use my right hand no typing, texting, cleaning, cooking and def no crafting :(. Can I tell you not having the use of my right hand is not good it makes me feel very useless. There is some benefits to this not having to clean or cook lol.

While my wrist heals there will be no new projects but I will be posting some stuff I have worked on in the past. Ok so now on to my goals for 2011 since I no longer do resolutions as they are never kept.

Goals for 2011

Quit smoking
Lose 40 pounds

Spend time with my family as I have felt that the last year I didn't spend enough time with them due to all my work. I am grateful for all my work and will conitnue to work hard but, I will also make sure not to take on to much so I can give my family what they need.

Read more I have always loved to read but since reading the twilight series in 2009 I haven't really read anything else... My goal for this year is to read the last two Harry Potter books and also finish all the books I started but never finished.

Open my Etsy Store/Craft more- I have crafted more this year than I have my whole life. The truth is though I mainly crafted for work this year I want to make a point to craft for fun. I would like to craft and sell some of my work on Etsy. I would also like to be invited to do a blog hop this year and would like to gain more followers. I also plan on making a few cards that I can keep for special occasions so I am always prepared.

Videos - I would also like to introduce a video series into my blog where I can showcase my crafting and also my party skills. I want to create a series of vlogs that will follow me as I plan a party and also mini crafting videos. I would like to start this series within the next few weeks.

Blog - I have also not been very sucessful in this blog, mainly for my lack of post. So starting today I plan to blog atleast once a week if not more as I would like to keep my readers up to date.

Plan ahead - This year I found myself wanted to do so much but doing very little. I missed out on halloween and so many Christmas projects. So this year I plan to start on the different occasions ahead of time so I will be able to complete all my projects. I also plan to incoporate the plan ahead into my party planning as I always find myself doing everything last minute.

And finally RELAX - I found myself very busy this year and had no time to really relax. I even got really sick this year so I plan to do some more relaxing as its really important for a healthy living.

Ok I hope to accomplish all my goals and keep you coming back!!!!

Have a great day

Christmas Weekend/Gifts

Hellooooo,

Merry Belated Christmas!!!!!

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and that santa was good to all...
I had an amazing Christmas even though the weeks and days leading up to Christmas where crazy. I spent alot of time crafting and baking the last 2 weeks. There will be plenty of crafty post coming up soon.

I have to say while I love this holiday I am so gald its finally over. This holiday season was very hectic and there was so many things I wanted to do that I didn't have time to do. I feel like I should start planning things for next Christmas so I will be prepared LOL.

It has been so crazy at work and home I have barely been able to see TV or do anything for myself. I have been working like crazy going to bed at 1-2 am and waking up at 6am, then working till 8pm and coming home to work some more. I am exhausted but I have to admit I am grateful because my hard work paid off.

Ok there is so much I wanted to share but its too much to do in this post and I don't want to bore you.

This Christmas was awesome I spent it with all of my family but it was a litte bit of a challenge. I spent noche buena/Christmas eve which is what latins celebrate with my in-laws. Then on Christmas day the boys woke me us up at 7am to open gifts.
I wish I would have taken some pictures to share so you guys can see the excitment on there faces. But no one could have been more excited than me on Christmas morning, I got a GYPSY YEAHHHHHH!!!!. Totally excited about my new toy I really was like a little kid at Christnas.

I also (don't laugh) got my Monster High Dolls I know how old am you (old enough). But I love the dolls they are so stinky cute so I asked Santa for Draculaura and Frankie Stein and he didn't forget hahahaha. I also got some clothes, cash and another favorite a gift certificate to Joann's fabric can't wait to go shopping.

Ok enough for today I will be back tomorrow with some more stories and pics.

Have a great evening

Quit Smoking Eat to Much!!!!

Hello,

So today's post is not about parties, crafting or cute things it's all about my journey to get healthy.
So as some of you might be aware I have been really sick lately. I have had a terrible cold in the last few months which has totally taking a toll on my life. The last 2 months I have been on about a dozen different medications and about 4 rounds of prednisone to help my lungs. If you are not aware of the side effects of this medications its lack of sleep and weight gain.

A few months ago I managed to lose alot of weight after being told I was pre-diabetic. I decide to change my eating habits and food lifestyle so I started to incorprate vegtables, brown rice and lots of salad. I also started to eat alot of fish and chicken and cut out all my sweets with the exception of sugar free ice cream. And wow did that make a huge difference the pounds literally started to melt away. In the past 6 months I have managed to drop about 25 pounds and my sugar levels are great.

The problem now is that since I got so sick this year I decided to quit smoking. COLD TURKEY quit smoking I haven't smoke in about 3 weeks but now all I do is EAT EAT EAT.... It's terrible because all my weight loss efforts are going down the drain and the holidays at the office are full of temptation.
Everyday the vendors are sending in sweets cookies, chocolate, popcorn OMG its too much to handle.
Also it doesn't help that this year I have decided that my x-mas gifts are going to consist of can you guess SWEETS!!!!!

Can I tell you something else I don't know if its the fact that I no longer smoke or maybe I was so sick before but all the food I eat taste amazing. I feel like I might need an intervention LOL. I am sure I am not the only one going through this and I so I would like to know your stories about weight loss and smoking cessation.

I would also love some ideas that I can incorprate into my blog come January that will be sort of the biggest loser challenge. I will have to think of something cool and fun that will also play with my crafting... Stay tuned.

Have a GREAT DAY

One Busy Holiday!

Helloooooo,

OMG I have been so lost from this blog I am not sure if even the few that follow care that much anymore. I really haven't been able to adjust to the different things going on in my life right now. I mean working a full time job, trying to start a new business, blogging and taking care of my family is taking a toll. To make matters worse this has been the worst year for me health wise. I have been super duper sick in the last few months and between last month and this month I have been in the hospital twice. So needless to say times have been tough. And the next few weeks before the New Year are going to be even tougher especially at my job since its brochure season and we are working late nights and even weekends to complete the jobs.

Ok on to the Holidays this season has been really busy for me as far as crafting and baking. I guess everyone is having that year where they want to giveaway more personalized homemade gifts. And since I am the only really crafty person my family and friends know I have been bombarded with requests.  Holiday gift Bags, Gift Tags, Holiday Cards, Gift boxes, Baked Goods , Holiday Parties, Candy  Tables etc....  you get the picture! As usual I wait for the last minute to do everything and now all my orders due at the same time and I have yet to finish my Christmas Shopping or wrap any of my gifts and have yet to even start on my gifts for family & friends and have been on 3 hours of sleep for the last few weeks.

So anyways this only means that there will be plenty to share with you in the coming days!

Stay tuned for some sneak peeks with will include baked goods, treat boxes, parties and so much more...

Here is a sneak peek of one project I am working on this is for my kids teachers and I got the idea from Elsa http://www.cricutlvr.blogspot.com/ who posted a link to http://www.cricutchick.blogspot.com/ where she had an amazing tourtrial. So without further ado here is my version of the box.

Ok Hope you all have a great day and stay tuned for more!!!!!

Thanks
Melissa
