Christmas Weekend/Gifts

Hellooooo,

Merry Belated Christmas!!!!!

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and that santa was good to all...
I had an amazing Christmas even though the weeks and days leading up to Christmas where crazy. I spent alot of time crafting and baking the last 2 weeks. There will be plenty of crafty post coming up soon.

I have to say while I love this holiday I am so gald its finally over. This holiday season was very hectic and there was so many things I wanted to do that I didn't have time to do. I feel like I should start planning things for next Christmas so I will be prepared LOL.

It has been so crazy at work and home I have barely been able to see TV or do anything for myself. I have been working like crazy going to bed at 1-2 am and waking up at 6am, then working till 8pm and coming home to work some more. I am exhausted but I have to admit I am grateful because my hard work paid off.

Ok there is so much I wanted to share but its too much to do in this post and I don't want to bore you.

This Christmas was awesome I spent it with all of my family but it was a litte bit of a challenge. I spent noche buena/Christmas eve which is what latins celebrate with my in-laws. Then on Christmas day the boys woke me us up at 7am to open gifts.
I wish I would have taken some pictures to share so you guys can see the excitment on there faces. But no one could have been more excited than me on Christmas morning, I got a GYPSY YEAHHHHHH!!!!. Totally excited about my new toy I really was like a little kid at Christnas.

I also (don't laugh) got my Monster High Dolls I know how old am you (old enough). But I love the dolls they are so stinky cute so I asked Santa for Draculaura and Frankie Stein and he didn't forget hahahaha. I also got some clothes, cash and another favorite a gift certificate to Joann's fabric can't wait to go shopping.

Ok enough for today I will be back tomorrow with some more stories and pics.

Have a great evening

Quit Smoking Eat to Much!!!!

Hello,

So today's post is not about parties, crafting or cute things it's all about my journey to get healthy.
So as some of you might be aware I have been really sick lately. I have had a terrible cold in the last few months which has totally taking a toll on my life. The last 2 months I have been on about a dozen different medications and about 4 rounds of prednisone to help my lungs. If you are not aware of the side effects of this medications its lack of sleep and weight gain.

A few months ago I managed to lose alot of weight after being told I was pre-diabetic. I decide to change my eating habits and food lifestyle so I started to incorprate vegtables, brown rice and lots of salad. I also started to eat alot of fish and chicken and cut out all my sweets with the exception of sugar free ice cream. And wow did that make a huge difference the pounds literally started to melt away. In the past 6 months I have managed to drop about 25 pounds and my sugar levels are great.

The problem now is that since I got so sick this year I decided to quit smoking. COLD TURKEY quit smoking I haven't smoke in about 3 weeks but now all I do is EAT EAT EAT.... It's terrible because all my weight loss efforts are going down the drain and the holidays at the office are full of temptation.
Everyday the vendors are sending in sweets cookies, chocolate, popcorn OMG its too much to handle.
Also it doesn't help that this year I have decided that my x-mas gifts are going to consist of can you guess SWEETS!!!!!

Can I tell you something else I don't know if its the fact that I no longer smoke or maybe I was so sick before but all the food I eat taste amazing. I feel like I might need an intervention LOL. I am sure I am not the only one going through this and I so I would like to know your stories about weight loss and smoking cessation.

I would also love some ideas that I can incorprate into my blog come January that will be sort of the biggest loser challenge. I will have to think of something cool and fun that will also play with my crafting... Stay tuned.

Have a GREAT DAY

One Busy Holiday!

Helloooooo,

OMG I have been so lost from this blog I am not sure if even the few that follow care that much anymore. I really haven't been able to adjust to the different things going on in my life right now. I mean working a full time job, trying to start a new business, blogging and taking care of my family is taking a toll. To make matters worse this has been the worst year for me health wise. I have been super duper sick in the last few months and between last month and this month I have been in the hospital twice. So needless to say times have been tough. And the next few weeks before the New Year are going to be even tougher especially at my job since its brochure season and we are working late nights and even weekends to complete the jobs.

Ok on to the Holidays this season has been really busy for me as far as crafting and baking. I guess everyone is having that year where they want to giveaway more personalized homemade gifts. And since I am the only really crafty person my family and friends know I have been bombarded with requests.  Holiday gift Bags, Gift Tags, Holiday Cards, Gift boxes, Baked Goods , Holiday Parties, Candy  Tables etc....  you get the picture! As usual I wait for the last minute to do everything and now all my orders due at the same time and I have yet to finish my Christmas Shopping or wrap any of my gifts and have yet to even start on my gifts for family & friends and have been on 3 hours of sleep for the last few weeks.

So anyways this only means that there will be plenty to share with you in the coming days!

Stay tuned for some sneak peeks with will include baked goods, treat boxes, parties and so much more...

Here is a sneak peek of one project I am working on this is for my kids teachers and I got the idea from Elsa http://www.cricutlvr.blogspot.com/ who posted a link to http://www.cricutchick.blogspot.com/ where she had an amazing tourtrial. So without further ado here is my version of the box.

Ok Hope you all have a great day and stay tuned for more!!!!!

Thanks

CD Purse Holder (Guest Designer)

Hello,

Today I want to share with you a very cute project that was made by my friend Melissa B of Melissa B Photography. She is the one who got me hooked on the cricut 2 years ago when she made some favor tags for a baby shower I was working on. Since then I have been in heaven with my cricut. Last week we where talking on the phone and she mentioned she had done a CD purse holder for her niece. When she sent me the picture I knew I had to share this is just to cute not to show.  What I like more about this project is the fact that she is mixing her Photography and her crafts all in one.

Hope you enjoy!!!

Pink & Brown Baby Shower - Inspiration

Good Morning.

Happy Friday to all.... Today I wanted to share with you guys the amazing Pink & Brown It's a Girl Babyshower I had last weekend. This is by far one of my favorite parties yet. It was simple yet elegant at the same time and the hostess was amazing. And the rec room in which the shower was held was also amazing and it helped to tied the entire shower together. The color pallette was perfect for this occasion and I have very happy with the final product.

Pink Baby Shower Favors

Good Morning,

So like I mention before I have been a busy little bee lately... With so many parties in the works its a miracle I find time to sleep. Today I wanted to share a project I did for someone who was referred to me through a friend. There wasn't a theme I was just told to do something pink and girly and here is what it looked like when it was done.

I cut a box using TBBM and my Cricut
I added an umbrella and Stroller from the Potpourri Cartirdge.
I added a stickle effect and rinestones on the umbrella and also the stroller.
I completed the box with shredded paper for the filling and vellum tags with the Baby Shower info.

Hope you enjoy!!!

CANDY TABLES & PARTY FAVORS

Hello,

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted. This month has been quite busy between celebrate my birthday and the 4 of July all together. Also I got an order for party favors Noah's Ark that I had to complete and working at my job it's been pretty busy.

For those who not aware I am a part time party planner. I love doing parties and creating scenes and setting the moods. I think it truly is the one thing I am passionate about and enjoy doing. For me planning a party is like being in a movie. I can create whatever mood or setting a client wants and always making sure that when they step into the party they are stepping into my vision and there own. So today I wanted to share with you a very special party. It is my cousin's baby shower this was from last year but I loved planing this shower and it turned out amazing. This shower was the first time I had done a full party by myself. I had done party favors and decorations before but never and entire party. I also have worked lots of parties with other event planners so I had that experience. The theme was lady bugs and back then they weren't and still aren't a very popular theme so I really had to design this from scratch. We decided the colors first and then went to work. It was done in my cousin's back yard so the Garden element was present. I also incorporated every color she wanted down to the flowers. I created a candy table complete with chocolate fountain and all kinds of fruit. I had ladybug cookies made and even chocolate ladybugs lolipops. In the end it was magical she enjoyed it and that is what matters.

So I included some pictures so you can enjoy and get some inspiration. I hope you will enjoy. If you would like to know more about AIH's party planning tips and ideas just email me @ adventuresinheels@gmail.com.

Hugs
